In this text, we’re going to cover the specification and mission of GetBlock, a top-tier provider of blockchain nodes infrastructure. It is designed to streamline the processes of decentralized applications (dApps) development. Also, it helps blockchain teams to save time and effort while running their protocols on various blockchains.

What is GetBlock?

Launched in Q4, 2019, GetBlock is a provider of blockchain nodes APIs that connects dApps to RPC endpoints of 50+ blockchains. Working with GetBlock removes the necessity of running self-hosted nodes for Web3 developers.

Basically, blockchain nodes are computers responsible for the processes of decentralized computations in this or that blockchains. To have the new block added to the previous one, the nodes should agree with each other on its validity. Thus, nodes are in charge of the integrity of blockchain consensus and security of its transactions.

Decentralized applications rely on blockchain nodes. Every NFT marketplace, DeFi protocol, decentralized crypto exchange, wallet or trading bot needs access to blockchain nodes to operate.

Instead of managing their own nodes, GetBlock clients just get API endpoints and integrate them into the codebases of their apps. With these endpoints, applications can read and write information on-chain.

GetBlock’s services: Nodes, clusters, explorer

Mea muamua lava, GetBlock is offering blockchain nodes services. Its clients can choose between shared and dedicated nodes. Shared nodes service is an entry-level opportunity by GetBlock: the client shares the resources with his/her peers. In a ‘Shared Node’ module, multiple clients are using the same node. Shared node is a smart bet for early-stage dApps, for prototype testing, i.e. for the applications with small number of transactions.

When dApps scale, they normally need enhanced throughput and higher speed of node connection. Thus, GetBlock offers dedicated node service: one node is only used by one dApp. ‘Dedicated Node’ module guarantees premium service and unlimited number of requests at the highest possible speed.

For the most sophisticated dApps, GetBlock offers node clusters, i.e. complexes of dedicated nodes equipped with traffic balancers. Using node clusters guarantees highest uptime and unmatched reliability.

In early Q1 2022, GetBlock started developing its own blockchain explorers for mainstream networks. GetBlock’s explorers display all necessary information for safe and transparent blockchain experience. As of January, 2023, GetBlock team released explorers for NEAR Protocol, Harmony, and Flow blockchains.

Pricing and specifications

GetBlock leverages a geographically distributed ecosystem of servers to run its node infrastructure: it uses high-end 32- and 64-thread CPUs, 128 GB DDR4 RAM, 4 – 16 TB NVMe SSDs. GetBlock works with all mainstream L1 blockchains (Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, Solana) and L2 solutions (Arbitrum, Optimism).

GetBlock has a free plan with a limited number of requests (40,000 requests per day) and five paid plans for shared nodes. Prices start from $29 while the largest shared nodes package costs $499 per month.

Prices for dedicated nodes, nodes clusters and explorer development are provided by request.

Fusi i luga

GetBlock is a top-tier blockchain nodes provider that connects dApps to shared and dedicated nodes. With its RPC APIs, dApps developers can use blockchain nodes without running them on their own.

GetBlock offers competitive pricing, high-end hardware and dedicated support channels together with impressive uptime rates.
